Stephanie Worsfold

IFBB Pro

Stephanie has been committed to the fitness industry witnessed by my sixteen years of competing and ten of those years as an IFBB professional. Appearing in over 35 competitions and qualifying for the Fitness Olympia on two occasions (1997, 2007) the IFBB recognized her as one of its top athletes when I was nominated for the IFBB athlete of the year at the 2007 Olympia awards banquet. Throughout her years of competitions she’s become one of Canada’s most identifiable figures in the fitness industry.  First by becoming one of Canada’s first I.F.B.B. Fitness Professionals and secondly through my work with one of Canada’s leading nutritional companies PVL Fit  Foods.

Here is my story… It all started in 1992 when I went to my first competition... they didn't even have fitness contests yet so it was a bodybuilding Competition in Stratford Ontario, Canada. After watching the contest I knew this was something I wanted to try. That whole year I trained my butt off, it worked out well since I worked at a gym as a trainer and aerobics instructor. I knew a lot of people at the gym thought it was a joke for Steph to do a bodybuilding show since my background was dance, long distance running and I was an aerobics instructor needless to say I didn't carry much muscle mass, but that even motivated me more. After a year of intense heavy lifting and a strict diet I entered the 1993 Stratford bodybuilding show.
People including myself were pretty impressed by what I did to my physique in one year, and the great part about it was I did the training and dieting myself, with a few tips from a few friends from the gym. The day of the show there were 6 girls in my class and I placed second. When I look back to those pictures I looked like a string bean! I had some muscle but I was so shredded I only weighed 116 pounds and now I compete at 130 pounds...quite a difference! I was pretty excited about the outcome of this show! A few months later there was contest in Windsor for a fitness contest called Ms. Fitness Canada, USA competition. It was one of the first fitness competitions in Canada. With my background of dance I thought this would be perfect. Thirteen girls entered this show, and I had a great time! I ended up winning the show; I enjoyed this much more than bodybuilding.

After that competition I knew I had a new passion. Since then I've been in over 35 fitness competitions. I received my I.F.B.B. Pro Card in 1996 and qualified for the Fitness Olympia my first pro year. And much to my surprise I qualified again in 2007. That was when I decided to retire from the stage to start a family. I now have a 1 year old Son or gift named Morgan William Roy Gleason. He really has been a gift! I lost both of my parents within the same year as having Morgan, life sure puts you through some bumpy roads. I feel I've been Blessed in this industry! I've had nothing but great experiences and I have met wonderful people. I have worked my ass off though, but when you work hard and have passion in what you do you will have success!

PVL (Fit Foods) have been very supportive and a big part of my life. As any competitor knows being amateur or a pro competitor is very expensive! Costumes, music, and travel the list goes on. After my first few years competing as a pro I was going to retire because of financial reasons and that's when PVL stepped in right at the perfect time. I always used their supplements and contacted them about sponsorship. I worked a few events for them and then they signed me up, YAAA! I didn't have to retire. I've now been with for over 10 years and they have been nothing but supportive and encouraging! I love their products so much that I quit my job at the gym as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant to be a Fit Foods…PVL Nutrients Sales Rep (and believe me I'm not a sales person!) Believing in the product and loving people I have become one of their top sales reps! Being one of there sponsored athletes I had the opportunity to host a television series called the PVL Finally Fit Challenge on Roger's Television and Living well with PVL. It's a twelve week transformation series where we diet (also using PVL products like Whey Gourmet ect.) and train people to reach their physical and nutritional goals. The show ran for 5 years and has been a great success that has opened up many more doors for me in the industry.
