Best Tips For Getting Ripped

Q. What are your best tips for getting ripped and shredded abs when getting ready for a show?

A. I get this question over and over! Take it from me, it’s not easy to achieve and maintain a ripped and shredded look, especially when trying to do it 365 days a year. I’d suggest you do 45 to 60 minutes in the morning of empty stomach cardio, drink tons of water, and train abs five times per week after your morning cardio. In the diet department, I believe one of the biggest factors is your carb intake; try limiting to half your body weight a day and timing these carbs to be used only around your pre- and post-workout meals, and if your schedule allows it, eat none after 5 p.m.

There’s a reason the best athletes in the world use coaches for diet and training: They want results and are willing to get the best people on their team to get those results. So if you can afford a coach, I personally think it makes a huge difference to have a professional help you create a personalized diet and make changes when needed. For bodybuilders or athletes, I would recommend Hany Rambod (www.hanyrambod.com) or myself at (www.WynerPhysiques.com). For bikini, figure, and fitness competitors, I would definitely give shout-outs to Kim Oddo (www.Bodybyo.com) or a hot new up-and-comer making waves on the scene, Venessa Leianne at (www.fitness-4-her.com).
