Post Buys Dymatize For $380 Million

Big news in the supplement industry this week as breakfast cereal company Post Holdings Inc. has announced that they will buy Dymatize for $380 million. Dymatize has been in the game for a while manufacturing protein powders, bars and nutritional supplements under the Dymatize and Supreme Protein brands. Yes, Supreme Protein bars and Dymatize are both part of the same company! This is a big help for Dymatize as it gives them the infrastructure needed to be a serious player in the supplement industry especially in the mass market area if they choose to go that route! Post also bought protein bar and RTD maker Premier Nutrition Corp (makers of Premier Protein, TITAN and Joint Juice) this past summer. Dymatize had net sales of $146 million and adjusted EBITDA of $23 million, for the nine months ended September 30, 2013, Post Holdings said. Let's hope they can afford to take out some ads in MUSCLE INSIDER magazine one of these days! Below are some of the cereal brands under the Post Holdings portfolio.
