When he was 11 months old, Wade McCrae Washington was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He also has severe scoliosis and was told by doctors that he wouldn't live past 10 years old. But Washington was determined to overcome these challenges, and he took up weightlifting. He's now 45, and recently received his professional card for bodybuilding. He has no intention of slowing down.

Wade won his GBO pro card (in the first ever GBO adaptive division) at 45 years of ago under the supervision of his trainer, IFBB Pro Tina Chandler. She devised special pieces of equipment in the gym that have allowed Washington to train hard and work the muscles that he needs to in order to develop his musculature, in addition to his symmetry and proportion.

Check out Wade and his cause on Facebook and Instagram, as he raises awareness for Loose Muscle Chorea Cerebral Palsy and Scoliosis.
