New trend, old research
Buzzwords such as “raw,” “paleo,” and “gluten-free” seem to be on the tip of everyone’s tongues these days, including bodybuilders’. The Paleo diet craze has taken off, and with good reason: it’s high-protein, low-carb, antibiotic and hormone free, and rich in fruits in vegetables. Essentially, it’s very healthy. That said, if you’re a serious lifter on a serious Paleo diet, you have serious protein needs. Good thing MHP’s Paleo Protein has you covered.

How do you make protein “Paleo”?
Whey protein is a big no-no on the Paleo diet. Our caveman/hunter-gatherer ancestors did not get their protein from a tub. In the simplest terms, whey is a by-product of the cheese-making process and therefore a dairy product, and soy (soy protein powder) is off limits. So what are the alternatives? Well, how about two of nature’s best protein sources for athletes—beef and egg whites? These two classic options are naturally loaded with BCAAs, which means they’re perfect alternatives to whey and they have all you need to enhance muscle growth and recovery.

Between the beef and the egg whites, Paleo Protein offers you one of the most advanced, highest quality protein formulas available. The biological value (BV) of protein is a measure of how readily protein can be used in protein synthesis in the cells once it’s broken down—essentially, how much protein you’re absorbing from the food you eat. Eggs are the gold standard with a BV of 100, and beef is right up there too, at 80. As a result of the innovative technology MHP uses to manufacture Paleo Protein (they super-concentrate the beef and egg protein using special hydrolysis and isolation technologies), it yields high levels of muscle-building amino acids. The two aforementioned technologies allow Paleo Protein to deliver high concentrations of protein without the elevated levels of fats and cholesterol typically found in beef and eggs.

What does beef taste like as a powder?
Paleo Protein makes a delicious shake you can enjoy drinking. This protein is smooth—it goes down smooth, mixes smooth, and tastes smooth. There’s no aftertaste, no bitterness, no chunks. That’s most likely because it’s all-natural, sugar-free, fat-free, lactose-free and gluten-free—it contains no artificial sweeteners or flavours. It has everything you need, and nothing you don’t. So far, it comes in Vanilla Almond and Triple Chocolate favor, and you can’t go wrong with either. Whether you have it on its own, with fruit, or with almond milk, you won’t be disappointed with the taste or quality of this protein supplement.
