2023 Toronto Pro SuperShow Results

The fans that got to witness the 2023 Toronto Pro SuperShow in person or on pay-per-view were treated to some incredible bodybuilding competitions. Ten of the 11 pro divisions were featured at this event, and none of them were a disappointment. Fans of bodybuilding in the host country can certainly be proud of their athletes this weekend. Canada had at least one athlete in the top five of all ten divisions with four divisions having Canadian champions. Here’s a look at how each division played out.

Men’s Open

Iain Valliere had this show in his sights all season, and he made the most out of the opportunity. Even with Hassan Mostafa and Ross Flanigan looking incredible themselves, Valliere held them off and won the title of Toronto Pro SuperShow champion as well as the 2023 Olympia qualification that came with it. Fellow Canadians Robin Strand and Joe Seeman rounded out the top five.

  1. Iain Valliere
  2. Hassan Mostafa
  3. Ross Flanigan
  4. Robin Strand
  5. Joe Seeman

212

Piotr Borecki’s season started off with a sixth-place finish at the 1 Bro Pro contest, but he bounced back in a big way by winning the 212 title in Toronto. There were five men in the lineup, but all five made it a tough call for the judges. Sung Yeop Jang was very impressive, and he may win a show himself down the road. Canada’s highest finisher in this contest was Chris Buhr, who came in third.

  2. Sung Yeop Jang
  3. Chris Buhr
  4. Hwang Shin
  5. Ming Chun Hon

Classic Physique

Another men’s Canadian champion was crowned in Classic Physique with Samuel Paquin taking the victory and Olympia qualification. He turned pro in 2021, and he got his first pro win in his second season. He can also make his Olympia debut alongside fellow Canadian and four-time Olympia champion Chris Bumstead. The top five are listed below. Special recognition is due for Edgar John Augustin, who placed fourth as a double amputee.

  1. Samuel Paquin
  2. Carl Gaithersburg
  3. Gregory Dawson
  4. Edgar John Augustin
  5. Maurice Burgess

Men’s Physique

The Men’s Physique lineup was very diverse, and the champion represents Morocco. Mehdi Kabaddi managed to take the first-place honors here with Rodrigue Chesnier of France finishing in second. Canada took the next two spots thanks to Bhuwan Chatham and Julian Colley followed by an American in fifth place, Gary Cooper.

  3. Bhuwan Chatham
  4. Julian Colley
  5. Gary Cooper

Men’s Wheelchair

Athletes that won their pro cards in the Pro Qualifiers were immediately eligible to compete, and Mohammadreza Tabriza Nouri did just that. He has the rare distinction of going from amateur to pro to Olympian in less than 48 hours. Congrats on the rookie who now gets to compete with the best in the world in Orlando this November. The top five are listed below.

  1. Mohammadreza Tabriza Nouri
  2. Tim Caldwell
  3. Jason Metcalf
  4. Bryan Williams
  5. Jack McCann

Women’s Bodybuilding

Many, including us, thought Theresa Ivancik would win the Women’s Bodybuilding event to qualify for the Olympia, but Julia Whitesel was possibly in her best shape ever, and she took the victory and Olympia invite away from Ivancik, who now has to compete again if she wants to earn her own ticket to Orlando. Canadians Tananarive Huie and Melina Perron represented the rest of the top four.

  1. Julia Whitesel
  2. Theresa Ivancik
  3. Tananarive Huie
  4. Melina Perron

Women’s Physique

The first Canadian champion on the women’s side of the stage was Emilija Martic, who finally won a show after three tries. She was the runner-up in this contest one year ago, so winning this time around must be satisfying for her. We look forward to seeing her on the Olympia stage if she opts to compete.

  1. Emilija Martic
  2. Romana Skotzen
  3. Amandine Kolly
  4. Alyssa Coppolino
  5. Nathalee Thompson

Figure

Anything can happen in the IFBB Pro League, but Lola Montez was the easy favorite to win the FIgure division, and she came through by winning the show in dominating fashion. There was no question she was going to be the winner because she brought a great physique to the stage. Manon Dutily and Jodi Boam both looked great as well, but Montez is third in the world for good reason. Let’s see if she can close the gap between herself and defending champion Cydney Gillon in Orlando.

  1. Lola Montez
  2. Manon Dutily
  3. Jodi Boam
  4. Lauren Martin- Stow
  5. Dalila Algeria

Bikini

We also predicted Eli Fernandez to take the Bikini title, and she did just that. She placed fourth in the New York Pro earlier in the season, but what matters are wins, and she now has hers. Adair Libbrecht held her own as Canada’s highest finisher in this division.

  2. Adair Libbrecht
  3. Maxine Somov
  4. Brittany Gillespie
  5. Kateryna Kauffman

Last but not least was the Wellness division, and Sandra Colorado Acal will return to Spain with a big win and Olympia qualification under her belt. Kristen Broadwell came so close to winning her first pro show, but she will have to compete again if she wants to taste pro victory in 2023. The top five are below.
