Biggie Smalls out of the Olympia
Tue, 2016-09-13 11:58

One of the Olympia's TOP contenders, and a perrenial crowd favourite because of the electric and creative choreopgraphy he brings to the stage, will NOT be competing this weekend in Vegas.

Fred Smalls will not be competing at the 2016 Mr. Olympia because he caught severe salmonella poisoning. "Biggie" posted the news in the early hours of Tuesday morning on his Instagram and Facebook pages. Our thoughts are with him, and we hope he's back to the stage, doing what he loves, soon!

Triumphant Comeback? Or Potential Embarrassment?

By Bill Dobbins

The outstanding story of the 2016 Mr. Olympia is very much the return to competition of Kevin Levrone at age 52 after not appearing onstage since 2003. The bodybuilding world is discussing and debating whether Kevin can be competitive standing onstage next to amazing competitors such as Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Dennis Wolfe, and Dexter Jackson.

The IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Explained

This series awards points to competitors placing in the top 2 to 5 of all Pro League events. At the end of the Olympia qualifying season, the five (5) competitors with the highest points totals in the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will qualify to compete at Olympia Weekend.

Since the winner of each competition automatically qualifies, no points will be awarded for first place. Additionally, competitors placing in the top 5 at the Olympia automatically qualify for the following year.

Myriam Capes Getting Back to Training
Mon, 2016-08-29 13:42

It's been almost 3 weeks since IFBB Fitness Pro Myriam (Mimi) Capes dislocated her shoulder while training for the Olympia and Arnold Europe/Asia.

Here is Mimi's original post where she talks about not being able to do the Olympia:

About 10 days ago I've got severely injured while pratising my new performance for the 2016 OLYMPIA. I dislocated my right shoulder while doing a front flip :(

Levrone Pressing 315 Behind the Neck

Sick of hearing about Kevin Levrone's big Olympia comeback?

Good! Neither are we! We've been keeping our ears to the ground, and watching him even closer on social media for any and all updates related to his Olympia prep. Most recently, Levrone released a video of him shoulder pressing 315lbs for 9 reps behind the neck.

We don't know a lot of guys who can do that on a good day in the off-season, let alone 3 weeks before the Olympia at 52 years old!

Mike Rashid is the New President of GIFTED Nutrition

Is Mike Rashid the new gift?

The bodybuilding world can be a truly interesting mistress. You just never quite know what you’re going to learn from day to day or week to week. Just last month the bodybuilding world was put on notice by five time Mr. Olympia champ Phil Heath stating that he would be leaving Gifted Nutrition. It was a bit of an interesting case as so many people were unaware of how little Heath had to do with running the supplement brand.
